I was walking to work when my eye caught a sparkle on the green bushes which line the boardwalk. First I thought it was a a metal mesh reflecting light, upon closer inspection it turned out to be water droplets formed over the leaves. They sparkled like diamonds in the sun light.

Pretty negligible damage on my walk from Newport to exchange place and groove via Hudson waterfront.
Leaves all around and the cleaning crew have already started sweeping em up.

Newport, jersey city NJ, does not look as bad as we expected. It has been raining all night with some gusty winds but not really bad.
Our area has power and water and the streets don’t look flooded.

It was uncannily quite today morning, proving the saying “calm before the storm” right.As hurricane Irene churns and starts it’s death march towards NY and NJ.
The only sound was for the birds which were very restless as if warning us of the grave danger.
